What Is The Fastest Way To Get Listed In The Search Engines
Getting a site up and getting it listed is something that any website owner wants to have happen. Nobody likes to wait around until Google bot decides to come crawling your way. Controlling the bots is like trying to herd blind cats. Its very difficult if you are just waiting around and doing rookie ideas like submitting your site to the search engines.
If your website is rather new, I would try these techniques to see if it can get listed faster in the search engines.
1. Tweet it – yes get yourself a twitter account and go out there and leave a tweet about it. Bots are always on twitter and if you leave a tweet about it, there is a good chance that the bots will index it.
2. StumbleUpon – do the same thing here go ahead and stumble it and leave what it is about. This is an excellent way to also get targeted traffic. If your site is good and people like it, it will start getting better rotation and your site will be growing naturally.
3. Go to delicious and social bookmark it. Yep thats it, make sure to tag it correctly.
4. Get a XML site map and an HTML sitemap made up so that when it comes it will also make sure it indexes what it is supposed to index and not index what it is not supposed to index.
5. If you have a blog – get on the pingomatic stuff now. You will want to include all of the places you can ping your site to.
Then the next thing to do is to do a search for your site exactly in the search engines. Not in the URL bar at the top but in the search box. If it comes back then you have been indexed. Now get out there and start blogging and making it happen.
P.S. – One last way is to leave some blog comments on popular blogs. Use your web address as your web address of course. Use your real name though, not some shitty thing like – Boston Auto Insurance. If that is your name then slap your mother, because she is crazy.
